原名JC Le Saoût的Wax Tailor是法國的hip hop製作人，以前也是個rapper。
在90年代早期， Wax Tailor在一個名為“La Formule Band”的樂隊中身兼數職，分別是說唱手，作曲者，製作人以及樂隊的經理。
1998年，他創立了一家廠牌“Lab Oratoire”，並且於2004在Lab Oratoire 下發行了兩張EP，分別是《Lost the Way》和《Que Sera / Where My Heart's At》，2005年發行了自己首張專輯《Tales of the Forgotten Melodies》。
也許從來沒有一個樂隊會象這個來自法國的樂隊Wax Tailor如此迷戀老電影對白的採樣，可能就連當初最精於此道的Portishead都要在Wax Tailor面前俯首稱臣。

“The Twighlight”中歌劇般的男聲與背後偶然出現的女聲的“啦啦啦”一樣動人心弦，而女聲的獨白更是增添了幾份憂傷。
Wax Tailor非常喜歡Doris Day, Nina Simone等音樂家的作品，就象他非常欣賞Stanley Kubrick, Woody Allen和Alfred Hitchcock一樣。
所以在他的作品中，你可以感受到他是如何將老電影對白採樣巧妙的融合在緩拍中去的。
轉機出現在2005年，由了前兩張EP的鋪墊，他終於發行了自己的首張專輯《Tales of the Forgotten Melodies》，其風格被外界稱之為“Cinematic Hip-Hop”，即“充滿電影畫面感的Hip-Hop”。
但如果抽去幾首說唱作品，那幾乎就是純正的Trip-Hop味了。
“Hypnosis Theme”里纏綿悱惻的提琴與妖嬈的Trip-Hop相互傾訴著彼此的心事，不時還有小號插一腳，中段過後老電影雜音，Lo-Fi質感的節拍與提琴一起上陣，再次重現了當初Portishead苦心營造的Trip-Hop幽暗氛圍。
“Am I Free”是陰陽怪氣的提琴，悠揚的笛聲，Trip-Hop節拍之間的三角戀，糾纏不清。
“Our Dance”以抽搐的提琴做背景，配上Charlotte Savary同樣人來瘋的唱腔，透出濃濃的Portishead式復古味，細心留意的話，還能辨認出Portishead標誌性的鍵盤音色呢。另一首女聲作品“Que Sera”和男聲哼唱的“A Woman''s Voice”也同樣值得推薦。
The trip-hop performance moniker of one Jean-Christophe Le Saoût, Wax Tailor first emerged in the French electronica scene in 2004 (with the EP release Lost the Way), but didn't release his debut album until 2006. That debut, Tales of the Forgotten Melodies, was a hit both in France and in the United States, garnering numerous iTunes sales, as well as making quite a dent on the CMJ charts that year. In 2007, Wax Tailor returned to the spotlight with his second full-length, Hope & Sorrow. Featuring vocalist Charlotte Savaryand Ursula Rucker, this second album was enough of a success to warrant a number of live shows featuring Wax Tailor and his four-piece band.
