“One”是由Sky Ferreira和Marit Bergman在不到三十分鐘寫完的，由Bloodshy & Avant負責製作，作為給小甜甜布蘭妮的單曲諸如"Toxic", "Piece of Me"和 "Radar"。Sky評價這首歌說到“使人麻木，等待感受愛，快樂或傷心——任何事，真的。有點像鐵皮人想要一個心臟。”在一次和DigitalSpy的採訪中，Sky進一步解釋到"One"的意義就是“就像一種你被忽視的關係—而任何這種關係，都必然不是浪漫的。重點是你感覺不到任何事——你不會感覺到開心，你不會感覺到傷心，但你想要感受到什麼...總是有人在一段感情中,想要得到更多的關注並竭盡全力去使另一個人高興。但事情是這樣的，你越使那個人高興，他們就會越不竭力因為他們知道你會做他們想要的任何事。那就是我開始在舞台上唱'One’ ”。

音樂是由攝影師Rankin導演並於2010年6月2號公布在the Parlophone Youtube上。背景主要是Ferreira全身著紅裝在一個閃光的地板上的特寫鏡頭，唱著進入到一個充滿沒有陰影的燈光的白色房間中，跳入到一份慢動作，並拉著白色的降落傘。
