旋律硬搖滾樂隊Shinedown來自Florida的Jacksonville，樂隊成員
由主唱 Brent Smith，吉他 Jasin Todd，貝司 Brad Stewart和鼓手Barry Kerch組成。2001年，Shinedown被曾簽下當紅樂團Nickelback的主流廠牌Atlantic簽下，從此順遂的音樂路程就此開始。
被Atlantic唱片搶簽後說成是Creed和Nickelback的接班人。樂隊在2003年的第一張專輯Leave a Whisper
為樂隊帶來了不錯的成績，之後樂隊在2004年的大部分時間裡都在各地巡演然後發行了一張現場專輯。2005年發行了成績不俗的新專輯Us and Them。

樂隊的首張專輯“Leave A Whisper”全球銷售超越150萬並達到白金唱片的認證，單曲「Burning Bright」、遭MTV禁播的「45」雙雙登上告示牌前五名，隔兩年拿到Billboard 200專輯榜No. 23的“Us And Them”專輯同樣大受歡迎，，「Save Me」、「I Dare You」分別被美國職業摔角WWE選用為賽程主題曲，這兩首單曲同時也在告示牌現代搖滾榜拿走冠、亞軍的名次，後者更被第五季選秀節目American Idol前四強參賽者Chris Daughtry作為參賽曲（現也以Daughtry組團出專輯），Shinedown因此為自己創造了兩張口碑之作。
