第43屆葛萊美獎頒獎典禮在美國洛杉磯斯台普斯中心舉行。老牌樂隊U2獲得了“年度最佳唱片”、“年度最佳歌曲”以及“最佳搖滾樂隊”三項大獎，流行樂隊斯迪利-丹則拿下了“年度最佳專輯”、“最佳流行樂隊”、“最佳流行專輯”、“最佳技術專輯”四項大獎。

此前還從未獲得過任何葛萊美獎的斯迪利-丹樂隊這次成了最大的黑馬，其名為《Two Against Nature》的專輯戰勝艾米納姆的《The Marshall Mathers LP》奪得了“年度最佳專輯”獎。斯迪利-丹還憑藉名為《Two Against Nature》的專輯獲得了“年度最佳流行專輯”獎，這是該樂隊19年來出版的第一張專輯。另外，其還憑藉《Cousin Dupree》一曲獲得了“年度最佳流行樂隊”獎。
RAP歌手艾米納姆共奪得三項大獎，分別為“最佳RAP專輯”獎、“最佳RAP表演”獎以及“最佳RAP歌曲”獎。
鄉村女歌手菲絲-希爾可謂風光無限，除了獲得“最佳鄉村音樂專輯”獎之外，她的單曲《Breathe》還獲得了“最佳鄉村歌曲表演”獎，她與丈夫蒂姆-麥克格拉共同演奏的二重奏還獲得了“最佳鄉村歌曲合唱”獎。
此外，少女組合“命運之子”也獲得兩項格萊美大獎，其中之一是“最佳R&B組合”獎，另外一項就是依靠《Say My Name》一曲獲得“最佳R&B歌曲”獎。D'Angelo也獲得兩項大獎，其名為《Voodoo》的專輯獲得了“最佳R&B演唱”獎。
本屆葛萊美獎共設有100個獎項，與去年不同的是，在今年的頒獎典禮上，沒有一位歌手或一個樂隊能夠奪得數量絕對最多的獎項
