男,1953年11月20日出生,畢業於蘭州大學,理學博士,九三學社成員, 現就職於蘭州大學生命科學學院細胞生物學研究所,任研究所所長。研究方向:細胞生物學、分子生物學。現任中國細胞生物學學會理事會理事。

1985年獲蘭州大學理學博士學位。曾先後在英國John Innes植物研究所和瑞典哥德堡大學分子生物學系學習和工作過多年。兼任中國細胞生物學學會理事。
主要從事植物細胞分子生物學、植物細胞工程和基金工程領域的研究,主持和參加國家自然科學基金項目、攻關項目及省部級科研項目共20多項。在國內外核心學術刊物上發表論文70餘篇。 現承擔研究生和本科生的課程包括《電鏡原理與實踐》、《植物分子細胞生物學專題》、《植物組織培養的原理與套用》、《細胞生物學研究方法》、《遺傳學大實驗》等。
