某些網路遊戲中，玩家捕捉的隨從（寵物、寶寶）有普通和變異之分。
為方便交流，玩家常將變異簡稱為BY。
《星際爭霸2》中建築物的簡稱：選中農民按B鍵後會出現基礎建築列表，然後再次按下對應快捷鍵就會建造該建築。BY是神族的控制芯核。
