人物經歷
1996-2003年在中國石油勘探開發科學研究院工作期間，負責和參與了多個盆地分析和石油地質條件評價的科研項目，研究地區包括準噶爾、柴達木、吐哈、鄂爾多斯和渤海灣等大盆地和一系列中小盆地。
2003-2008年在加拿大多倫多大學攻讀博士，師從世界著名盆地分析學家Andrew Miall院士，研究了北美西部前陸盆地的地層-構造演化，重塑了盆地的演化歷史，並提出了旋迴性的地層充填模型。
2009-2010年在愛爾蘭都柏林大學做博士後，研究了北大西洋東部裂谷盆地的地層-構造演化，首次提出在侏羅紀末期北大西洋東部經歷了一次大規模的擠壓變形，可能應力來自於歐洲中部阿爾卑斯特提斯洋的初始關閉。
2011年-現今，主要研究東亞中生代盆地和造山帶的演化歷史與亞歐大陸邊緣板塊碰撞的關係。
2013年，於Earth-Science Reviews發表文章，首次提出白堊紀東亞邊緣發生了一個重大的碰撞事件，該文章引起了國內外地學同行的普遍關注和大量媒體的普遍報導。
社會兼職
兼職為Marine and Petroleum Geology(Elsevier)的副主編。
