《Getting Better》時期發生了一件關於Lennon的事件。1967年3月21日，George Martin正在給《Lovely Rita》加上鋼琴獨奏，Lennon抱怨自己身體感覺不是很好，沒有辦法集中注意力。原來他之前準備服用興奮劑卻誤服了LSD。Martin沒有發現他誤服藥物便把Lennon帶到Abbey Road錄音室的屋頂呼吸新鮮空氣，然後自己就回到了McCartney和Harrison正處的Studio Two。他們知道Lennon感覺不好，聽到Lennon在哪兒後，跑到屋頂並幫Lennon恢復正常，阻止了一次可能的事故。
