Today, I read the Unit1 in New College English. The subject is Finding Happiness. It is a long passage. There are about 2000 words in the passage. The passage is hard to read, because my vocabulary is not enough, I don’t know many new words. So if I want to accelerate the speed of reading, I should do the following things: first, find out all new words and look them up in the dictionary. Second, read the passage with the new words, it will make me read more fluently and cut down the time of reading. In the reading process, I found some sentences were difficult. My grammar is very poor, so I borrowed a reference book about New College English from the library. The book has very particular explain, it can help me grasp the content of the passage better. After reading the passage, I suppose I should read more English passages in my free time to improve my vocabulary and grammar.
