講的是一個叫“克萊德”C.L.Y.D.E.（Computer Linked Yield Driven Entity）的外星超級電腦，因為具有幽默感，被他生硬機械一絲不苟的同族宣判有罪，並流放到了處於宇宙邊緣的地球上，恰巧掉進了哥倫比亞一家餐館附近的青蛙池裡，餐館的兩個孩子兄妹倆瑪特和薩姆收留了他並開始了之後一系列的冒險……克萊德可以把片中的兩個主角送到網路世界中去完成各種任務，裡面有四個電腦病毒報警器，其中，最難忘的是那個戴著頭巾拿著大刀的黃色四方形病毒“進攻器”，每次見到兄妹兩人都喊“進攻——”，然後不顧一切地衝上去，這是它的招牌。
《電腦精靈》是加拿大由MoonScoop Group製作，CINAR Animation公司出品的電視動畫，該動畫曾在20世紀90年代末被引進至中國大陸，在中國中央電視台7套播出。因為其幽默風趣並略帶科普的劇情而引起了強烈的反響，然而今年來無論是國內還是國外都很難找到這部老動畫的資料了。2018年2月，在bilibili視頻站一位該動畫譯製團隊的家屬上傳的VHS錄像帶採集的動畫全集，使這部動畫終於在網路上復活了。
