英語中，一個簡單句只能有一個謂語動詞，謂語必須由動詞擔任（be動詞、實義動詞、助動詞、情態動詞），但動詞不一定作謂語。
雙謂語錯誤就是一個句子裡面有兩個謂語動詞,例如：He goes to the shop buy a pen.正確的應該是He goes to the shop to buy a pen.
