紐卡斯爾大學(英國著名大學)

紐卡斯爾大學（Newcastle University），簡稱紐大，是位於英國英格蘭東北部的世界一流研究型大學，英國著名公立大學。紐大是英國著名的常春藤聯盟羅素大學集團，N8大學聯盟的成員，英國老牌名校之一，擁有英國頂尖的醫學院，同時該校在科學、工程、法學及人文社科等方面皆相當出色，此外，也是英國擁有最多歐盟研究檔案的大學之一。紐卡斯爾大學目前除了英國泰恩河畔紐卡斯爾本校區外，在亞洲的馬來西亞以及新加坡分別設立了馬來西亞校區和新加坡校區教授部分專業領域課程。

該校創建於1834年，是英國歷史最悠久的大學之一，創建之初名為「醫學與外科學院」(School of Medicine and Surgery)，隨後成為分裂改制前的杜倫大學的另一半部的學院，在1963年根據國會法案(Act of Parliament)與杜倫大學分別成立各自獨立的學校，正式全名為「泰恩河畔紐卡斯爾大學」(University of Newcastle upon Tyne)。

2014年12月18日，在英國唯一由官方每7年發布一次的REF英國大學科研實力（原RAE）排名中，紐卡斯爾大學居全英第16位；在2018年泰晤士高等教育世界大學排名位居全英第26位；在2019年QS世界大學排名上位居英國第22位，世界第141位；在2018年USnews世界大學排名居第187位；在2017英國政府教學卓越框架質量榜單中，成為TEF金獎大學；在最新2018及2019QS世界大學排名中，紐卡斯爾大學獲得5+星級評分，全英僅有兩所大學獲此殊榮。

學校特色

紐卡斯爾大學提供高素質本科及碩士學位課程。大學下設8個學院：農業與生物科學學院、藝術學院、教育學院、工程學院、法學院、環境與社會學院、醫學院和理學院。共開設了200多種本科學位課程和130種授課研究生課程，所有的院系都開設有碩士或博士研究課程。截止2015年有20,000名全日制學生就讀於該校，其中3000多名學生來自英國以外的100多個國家，校園裡有濃厚的國際學術交流氣氛。

大學宿舍及學生宿舍可容納學生5000名，海外留學生想入住，一般都可獲得分配。學校附近有很多私人房屋出租，房租比市價低，學生如需要可向學校索取名單。校園附近有多家診所（其中一家設在校園內）。學生輔導中心及國際留學生辦事處的職員對解決海外學生所遇到的困難有豐富經驗，並且組織周末迎新活動幫助學生儘快適應英國的生活。大學設有完善的體育設施，包括一個18洞的高爾夫球場。

紐卡斯爾大學也是英國公主尤金妮（Princess Eugenie）曾就讀的大學。尤金妮公主於2009年9月入讀紐卡斯爾大學，剛剛年滿19歲的尤金妮在英國中學高級水平考試（A-Levels)三門科目中取得了兩門優秀、一門良好（AAB）的優異成績，她也是迄今為止獲得最佳A-level成績的英國王室成員。作為英國王室的一員，尤金妮公主離開條件優越的王宮，住在一周96英鎊的學生宿舍內，過上“平民”生活。但尤金妮公主並不是第一位入住學生宿舍的王室成員，她的哥哥威廉王子在聖安德魯斯大學學習時，也曾在學校宿舍度過他的第一年大學生涯。

西南財經大學

在西南地區，紐卡斯爾大學已與西南財經大學出國留學預備學院開展2+2學分豁免項目，為西南地區乃至全國高二、高三優秀學生提供本科財經類專業留學項目，努力打造能參與國際事務、具有國際視野、通曉國際規則的經濟管理高端人才。

學院項目主要採用2+2培養模式，學生在西南財經大學學習兩年時間，學習期間採用小班制啟發式教學，半封閉式住校管理，提前修讀海外大學學分課程，節約留學時間和費用，並讓學生提前適應過渡。兩年後，學生轉學到海外大學繼續本科學習。

學校歷史

紐卡斯爾大學的歷史可以追溯到1834年由紐卡斯爾城成立的醫學院，提供當時在學的26名學生演講以及手術實驗課程。在1851年六月，該校分裂為兩所敵對的學院。主要的學院成立了紐卡斯爾醫學院(Newcastle College of Medicine)，而另一個學院則成立為泰恩河畔紐卡斯爾醫學與實用科學學院(Newcastle upon Tyne College of Medicine and Practical Science)。

在1852年，紐卡斯爾醫學院正式與杜倫大學結合，並在1856年授頒布第一個“醫學證照”(Licence in Medicine' (Lic.Med))，該校教授的證書受倫敦大學認可。兩所學院後來在1857年合併，並且在1870年重新命名為杜倫醫學院(Durham College of Medicine)。

為了在城市提供教授科學的地方，教授數學、物理、化學及地球科學的學院所在1883年成為了杜倫物理科學學院，並且在1904年以威廉·阿姆斯特朗，第一代阿姆斯特朗男爵之名命名為阿姆斯特朗學院(Armstrong College)。這些獨立或分裂出來的學院所後來皆成為1908年被官方認可、分成兩個部門並分別位於兩個城市杜倫及泰恩河畔紐卡斯爾的杜倫大學。到了1908年，泰恩河畔紐卡斯爾的部門系所如醫學系、藝術系，以及涵蓋農業以及工程的科學系所，已經教授了廣泛的科目。

隨後到了20世紀初葉，分為兩個部門並且橫跨兩個城市的杜倫大學體系已顯得不適發展，於是在1963年的國會法案通過了將其成分割為兩所大學，分別為紐卡斯爾大學以及杜倫大學。這兩所大學與其他相近時期成立的曼徹斯特大學、伯明罕大學、利物浦大學、里茲大學、謝菲爾德大學、布里斯托大學等大學統稱為紅磚大學。

地理位置

英國紐卡斯爾大學位於泰恩河下游北岸的紐卡斯爾市市中心，東距北海13公里，是泰恩威爾郡的首府。該城建於中世紀（1080年），當時的名字叫做 Pons Aelius，是由羅馬帝國哈德里安皇帝修建的。至今仍能在紐卡斯爾部分地區看到這些舊時的城牆，尤其是沿西路（West Road）一帶。該市是英格蘭20世紀最受歡迎的城市之一。紐卡斯爾人口30萬。面積112平方公里。十六世紀以後為英國主要的煤港。1882年正式建市。

公車

紐卡斯爾大學的學生主要乘坐Stagecoach公司的公車，因為大多數開往學生公寓的公交都是他們公司經營的，包括離校園最遠的學生公寓。

捷運

紐卡斯爾的捷運向北到達Gosforth, Kingston Park Airport, Whitley Bay, 向東經過Byker, North Shields到達Whitley Bay。紐卡斯爾市的捷運票價較貴，不過住在Bowsden Court公寓的學生如果經常使用捷運，可以得到一張學生捷運卡。

飛機

火車

校園設施

紐卡斯爾大學校園內有註冊和獲準的就餐場所提供服務，包括Uni cafe、The time out food court、The stop gap shop和公共休息室。
