summoning是一支來自音樂之都維也納的氛圍派黑金屬樂隊，音樂風格非常獨特，並具有相當的藝術感染力，他們慣常於中慢板的黑金屬音樂，並用反覆鋪陳的吉他riff，大量鍵盤和弦樂背景營造出一種黑暗而幽雅的氣氛，旋律上則深受奧地利本土音樂及現代Dark Ambient音樂的影響，即旋律本身並不複雜或怪異，但通過層疊和反覆的手法在音樂的深度上進行發掘，確是非常耐聽的。作品內容也主要以英國作家托爾金的魔幻史詩《魔戒》的內容為主。
