《本應拒絕》（Should’ve Said No）於2008年5月19日發布,是同名專輯裡的第5首單曲，也是最後一首單曲，由Taylor獨立創作。也是她的第二首在Billboard鄉村榜中奪冠的單曲（2008年8月23日）。同時，像其他4首單曲那樣，這首歌也進入了Billboard Hot 100的前40位，最高排名為33。2008年9月3日，這首單曲的數字銷量也由RIAA認證了白金。
2008年的ACM上,Taylor表演了這首歌。這個Live最終成為了這首歌的MV。在後來的2009年Fearless Tour上，Taylor唱這首歌時也像在ACM那樣淋雨。
在Jonas Brother的Burnin’ Up Tour上，Taylor也表演了這首歌，並收入了他們的3D演唱會的電影中，成為這部電影的原聲帶歌曲之一。

創作背景
根據Country Weekly雜誌的採訪，Taylor在16歲時，發現她的男友欺騙了她，於是寫下這首歌。在採訪中，她透露，那個男孩的名字是Sam，不過她並沒有將這個名字像Drew、Cory之類的寫進歌里。
她也說，創作這首歌時，最先出現在她腦海里的就是這首歌的歌名那句“you should’ve said no”，副歌部分她只用了5分鐘就完成創作了。
而這首歌的很多歌詞，都是她當時面對男朋友時說過的話寫成的。Taylor說相比起Picture To Burn那首充滿憤怒,表現出“我們玩完了”的態度的歌，這首歌更加平和，類似於那種”我愛你，我們在一起真的很不錯，但是你毀了這一切，在面對誘惑時，你本應該拒絕的，而不是接受，不然的話我還是會一如既往地愛你的”。
Taylor說：作為一個人，我意識到在你面臨著一些你自己製造出來的麻煩之前，在你必須解決一些困境之前，其實總有些關鍵性的時刻，能讓你大聲說”不！”（讓你不必遇上那些麻煩事），這首歌寫是寫給一個不應該欺騙我，但最終卻騙了我的男孩。
