外貿信函，即商貿英文書信，在中國又稱為外貿書信，它是指外貿公司（企業）及其人員在對外貿易活動中，與涉外企業及其人員之間相互往來的以商貿交往為內容的各種英文信件。
廣義上的外貿信函還包括電報、電傳、明信片以及各種商務報告書、廣告詞等。
外貿信函是外貿交往的重要工具，外貿人員不僅要懂得外貿英語，而且必須善於運用外貿英文與貿易夥伴進行書信交流。
格式
里我們介紹一種商務信函中最通用的格式－齊頭式。主要特徵就是每行均從左邊頂格寫，常常採用開放式的標點方式，即除了信文部分，其它部分在必要時才使用標點。信中各段落之間均空一行。
