2011.12 – 研究員，博導，清華大學，生命科學學院。
2007 – 2011 博士後 美國國立衛生研究院（NIH）過敏與傳染病研究所（NIAID）。
2005 – 2007 博士後 美國加州大學舊金山分校（UCSF）微生物與免疫學系。

1997 – 2001 學士 中國農業大學 生物學院。
研究方向
分子免疫學、細胞生物學、疫苗學。主要用於新型的高速高解析度的活細胞單分子螢光成像技術，並結合傳統的免疫學、生物化學研究手段，致力於淋巴細胞功能研究。正在開展的工作包括：（1）淋巴細胞活化的分子機制及調控機制的研究；（2）淋巴細胞異常活化導致的自身免疫疾病及淋巴癌的研究；（3）記憶性淋巴細胞增強的免疫應答的分子機制；（4）抗原受體介導的淋巴細胞生存機制和發育分化機制；（5）探討病原微生物作用於淋巴細胞活化途徑的免疫逃逸新機制；（6）構建基於上述知識的新型疫苗。

2018年8月3日，國家自然科學基金委員會公布2018年度國家傑出青年科學基金建議資助項目申請人名單，其中劉萬里研究領域的《B淋巴細胞基礎免疫學》項目在2018年度國家傑出青年科學基金建議資助項目申請人名單內。
