這一天，小老鼠傑瑞收到叔叔佩克斯的電報，他這位住在得州的叔叔將帶著心愛的吉他來到傑瑞的住處看電視，並作短暫停留。看到電報後傑瑞非常高興，這時敲門聲響起，帶著牛仔帽、穿馬靴、留了兩簇濃密白鬍子的叔叔走進房間，自顧自地為侄子彈唱起來。誰知唱到高潮處時，琴弦突然斷掉。叔叔竟然走進房間，從正在睡覺的湯姆臉上揪了一根鬍子下來當琴弦。傑瑞想方設法阻止叔叔的瘋狂舉動，但三番五次過後，湯姆卻怕起了這個混不吝的老鼠叔叔。他四處躲藏，可是總也無法逃避鬍子被揪掉的命運。
