長期以來，中國傳統的政府決策諮詢機構雖然不斷壯大，但總體上還是不適應當前形勢發展的需要。鑒於我國智庫在決策信息需求上的不足，國內第一套以智庫為名的政策研究系列讀物《國家智庫》、《中國智庫》於2010年問世。《國家智庫》和《中國智庫》將當前學術或政策論述、研討成果或政策建言，以易於大眾閱讀的語言編撰成書，文種為中文，16開本，針對單一政策議題或多項議題每季度出版，年底彙編成集（中英文版），由中國知名的智庫研究機構——東中西部區域發展和改革研究院主持研究編撰，中共中央機關刊物《求是》雜誌社主管的中央級出版社——紅旗出版社出版，面向全國各地新華書店和國內主要網站公開發行。

《國家智庫》、《中國智庫》從學術、政策和戰略角度深入研究中國發展和改革中的一系列重大理論、政策和實踐問題及全球性問題，積極傳播研究成果；研究國外哲學思想中的治國理政理念，創新性梳理中國發展的政策策略，對“中國特色”進行多方位、多領域的交叉研究；倡導社會精英對公共議題的理性思辯，培育國家發展進步的動力。

《國家智庫》所修煉的是“外功”，即從“國家”的高度去設定話題，看待問題。站的角度也是國家戰略的巨觀層面。所關注的著眼點在於對國家形象力的展示和對國家戰略層面的問題建設，其研究焦點在於大國關係。設有大國關係、智者論道、產經透視、公共民生、軟實力等五大版塊。
《中國智庫》
《中國智庫》所鍛造的是“內功”，其關注的問題、思考的問題和所要解決的問題均在“內部”，其所瞄準的是中國的現實之困，旨在為解決中國內部問題而尋求一種有效的思考與解決問題的路徑。其呈現出來的研究成果集中融合了當今中國自然科學、社會科學、工程技術科學和政策法規等領域的最新研究方法與思路。設有熱點研究、行業報告、決策者說、智聞天下、歷史散葉等五大版塊。

For a Long time, the traditional governmental consult agencies develops very fast, however, they still cannot meet the need of the development of current situation. In the consideration of the lack of demand of the decision-making information of Chinese think tank, as the first study of policy series in the name of think tank, National Think Tank and China Think Tank were created in 2010. National Think Tank and China Think Tank are complied of current study, research of policy, research achievement and policy suggestions in a popular form in Chinese language; the two series are made in 16 folio edition, aiming at one or more political issues, publishing every two months; the two series are compiled in Chinese and English edition at the end of the year. National Think Tank and China Think Tank are edited by China Region Development & Reform Institute(CRDRI), which is a famous think tank agency and are published by The Red Flag Publishing House, which is a national class publishing house(Truth Seeking belongs to it ). The two series are sold at Xinhua Bookstore and airport and so on all over the country.
National Think Tank and China Think Tank study the important theoretical, political, practical and global problems deeply in the development and reform of China from the prospects of scholar, policy and strategy, spread the achievements of research actively. The two series also study the governing ideas in foreign philosophy, innovatively sort out the policy strategy of the development of China, and study the “Chinese characteristic” from many prospects and fields. The series advocate the elites to think the public issues rationally, foster the force of national development.
National Think Tank set topics from the prospect of the strategic level of the country, what the National Thin Tank cultivating is “Wai Gong”, making and dealing with the problems from the height of “country”, which means the physical ability of one thing. What the National Think Tank focusing on is the spread of the image of the country and the construction of national strategic problems, of which great power relationship is the center point. National Think Tank has five columns: Great Power Relations, Great Minds Discussing Ideas, Perspectives on Industrial Economy, Public People’s Livelihood and Soft Power.
China Think Tank aims at the real problems of China, dedicated to offering an effective approach to thinking and resolving these problems. What it forges is the “Nei Gong”, which means the inner and spiritual ability of one thing. The articles of China Think Tank mix the latest research approach and thinking together, including of natural science, social science, engineering and policy study of contemporary China, it has five columns as well: Focus Research, Industry Report, Decision Makers Say, Intellectual News Broadcast and History Leaves.
