1. 表示“打擾”“麻煩”，為及物動詞，要表示用某事麻煩某人，一般用介詞 with 或 about。如：
I’m sorry that I have to bother you with [about] this problem. 對不起，我要用這個問題來麻煩你了。
2. 表示“費心”“費力”，多用於否定句和疑問句；若表示費心做某事，表示通常其後接動詞時，通常用不定式。如：
He didn’t bother (=trouble) to answer personally. 他嫌麻煩不願親自回答。
