歌曲的演唱聲音被接入Leslie speaker音箱中（一種原來是被用作哈蒙德風琴的擴音器），並用一種自動雙軌道技術（ADT）把聲音加倍處理。每位披頭在家都要各自創作些奇怪的聲音讓混音時套用。這些不同的聲音在混音時會用不同的速度播放，常常更是用「倒轉」的重放法去混合在一起。列儂做了8條循環聲帶，將它們分成八部錄音機播放，聲音在Ringo Starr勻速但不標準的鼓聲中淡入和淡出然後隨心意的將聲音淡入或淡出。麥卡尼的循環聲帶收錄了他自己的笑聲，那聽起來像鳥類的聲響。這首歌也是flanger effect在樂器上的首次使用之一。
歌曲經常被評為史上最偉大的歌曲之列，Pitfork Media在其“The 200 Greatest Songs of the 1960Ss”中將其評為第19名，滾石雜誌也將其選入“500 Geatest Songs of All-Time”。
