Within Temptation是一支來自荷蘭的女聲金屬樂隊，現已在世界範圍內獲得了很大成功。現成員為：Sharon（主唱），Robert（吉他手），Jeroen（貝斯手），Martijn（鍵盤手），Ruud（吉他手），Stephen（鼓手）。
Within Temptation可說是一支表現出色的荷蘭美聲派Gothic樂團，汲取前輩The Gathering的悠揚氣氛作風，再更專注於樂曲的情感呈現，並以女主唱Sharon飄渺的動人音色為主軸，2000年末所發表的第二張專輯，不論在各方面都較上張專輯成熟相當多，樂團焦點Sharon明顯能聽出她唱腔上的進步，除了音色更為渾美外，在轉音及高音表現上也都更顯出色！而這張專輯的樂風走向則變得更為柔美，金屬成份不但大為地減少，Death腔的運用也已不復見，改而加入部份男女唱詩班的合唱演出，曲式的編寫可說是針對Sharon所量身訂作，完全突顯出Sharon的美妙音色。
Within Temptation的分割風格大致可以確定為Gothic Rock中的Dark Wave一支。Dark Wave和Gothic Metal同為Gothic Rock即早期哥特音樂的衍生兒。Dark Wave後來又大致分化出四個後代，分別為Ethereal（所謂的仙音），Medieval，Dark Ambient和Neo Classical。Etherea的主要特點是帶有十分縹緲、空靈的主音，所以這一派樂隊一般都有一位不食人間煙火般的清麗，脫俗的女主唱。而在樂隊配樂方面,則會多用鍵盤營造出一種悽美，哀怨的唯美境界（像Witin Temptation的Our Farewell和Forgiven）。
近些年Within Temptation的風格有所改變，他們的新專輯裡就嘗試了Folk和Power的曲風。像為網遊魔域編年史所作的The Howling就帶有明顯的民謠金屬的感覺，而Hands of Sorrow和What Have You Done則注入了力量金屬的特點。

《Black Symphony》是Within Temptation於2008年2月7日，在荷蘭鹿特丹Ahoy Arena舉辦的演唱會實況收錄特輯，邀請The Metropole Orchestra管弦樂團以及The Pa'dam Choir合唱團助陣。本來就已經享有很高知名度的Within Temptation，通過這場驚艷而震撼的演唱會，更加證明了他們的表現力和影響力。
《Black Symphony》這張Live專輯，則於08年9月23日由大名鼎鼎的Roadrunner唱片公司發行，專輯在歌迷中享有很高的美譽度。名團名場，而且加上本身樂隊的表現極佳，是值得一聽的專輯。
