約翰·班揚，英國著名作家、布道家。出生於英格蘭東部區域貝德福德郡的貝危蒸櫻德福德白想鴉想。青年時期曾被悼少符征入革命簽拳的議會軍，後在故甩洪霸疊鄉從全多抹事傳希試跨教活動。1660年斯圖亞特王朝復辟，當局藉口未經許可而傳教，把他逮捕入獄兩次，分別監禁十二年、六個月。
