創作背景
《Telephone》由Lady Gaga本人和Beyonce合作填詞，由羅德尼·傑金（Rodney Jerkins）等人譜曲。這支曲子最初是由羅德尼·傑金寫給布蘭妮·斯皮爾斯的一首歌曲，本預備收錄在布蘭妮的第六張錄音室專輯《Circus》，在布蘭妮試唱後作出了棄用的決定，而這首歌曲的作者羅德尼·傑金接著將著作權賣給了Lady Gaga。這首歌詞主要靈感來自於Gaga生活中的壓力，她認為自己很少有時間去放鬆和樂趣，故將情緒與歌曲連線，創作了該曲。

歌曲鑑賞
Lady Gaga現象在這張仿若B-side的歌曲當中得到了最充分的體現，尤以陰暗憂鬱為最主要特徵，當成為全球矚目的焦點時，哪怕是最不削他人眼光的Lady Gaga也在這張專輯當中表現出了她的恐懼。動感節奏的輪番轟炸與Eletro/Disco的復古元素有機結合，是這首歌曲的最大亮點。
歌曲MV
這首歌曲的MV由導演喬納斯·阿克倫德（Jonas Akerlund）執導，拍攝地點在洛杉磯一沙漠中，MV劇情延續Paparazzi的劇情——Gaga因毒害了她的男友而入獄之後的故事。
鏡頭開始是兩個獄警押著Gaga走進女子監獄，監獄裡的女人都對這個新來的很感興趣，都在護欄後觀望。一間囚室被打開，隨後Gaga被推了進去，兩位女警脫去了她的衣服後離開，其中一個人說“I told you she didn't have a dick"，這個小插曲意在為了澄清Gaga是人妖的謠言。
視頻的前三分鐘都是Gaga在監獄裡的活動，先是戴著布滿香菸的墨鏡身穿鐵鏈和女同志囚犯接吻，期間廣播通知有Gaga電話，她無視掉了；而後又在一間較大的房間裡看兩個女人打架，最後廣播又響起，“Gaga，你有Beyonce的電話”，這時鏡頭先給了Gaga身旁黑衣女郎一個特寫（此演員是Gaga的親妹Natalie Germanotta），再轉向Gaga，歌曲也正式開始。唱到“Just a second……”時Gaga身穿和四個大姐不太一樣的鉚釘內衣從監獄的走廊盡頭走過來，舞蹈開始，鏡頭還切換到黃色警告條服飾。

MV截圖Gaga被保釋出來，臨走前還擺了個Pose。Beyonce在車子Pussy Wagon上等她，她在MV里的綽號是Honey Bee，二人帶車去了一家餐館，兵分兩路，Bee去坐到她的男友Gibson對面，但Gibson的愚蠢讓Bee已經厭倦，決定毒害他。鏡頭轉到廚房，Gaga在食物中下毒，和身邊拿著食材或廚具的廚師起舞。之後，Gaga毒死了一個餐廳的人以及一隻狗，在屍體中間昂首闊步。
最後，二人駕著車換上了中東服飾遠走高飛，電視台報導一個餐廳的人全被毒害，警方正在全力追捕她們。Gaga說要逃到天涯海角，她們互相保證永不回來，後鏡頭顯示“未完待續”。

2010年2月23日，《Telephone》憑藉11萬4千次的下載成績，而空降公告牌29名，並於在榜第16周時進入前十，並且在上榜的第17周后獲得公告牌季軍。據世界聯合排行榜公布，這首歌擁有576萬9千的單曲銷量，是全球銷量排名第8的單曲。此外《Telephone》在流行音樂榜上拿下了8個國家的冠軍，一個國家的亞軍，7個國家的季軍，打入了21個國家的前十名。
