如果使用UNICODE字元集， 則TEXT("This is a const string.")相當於L"This is a const string."， 如果使用ASCII集， 則上述字元串相當於“This is a const string.”。這樣， 寫的程式既可以使用UNICODE， 也可以使用ASCII， 增強了移植性。

在寫windows應用程式時， 如果您不確定使用UNICODE還是ASCII好， 那么推薦您使用TCHAR來替代程式中的char和wchar_t，同時對於字元串常量使用TEXT宏（或_T宏）。
