威廉·龐德斯通（Williarm Poundstone），曾在麻省理工學院學習物理學，定居於洛杉磯。他為世界各地的報刊、雜誌以及電視台撰稿，是《哈帕斯》雜誌和《紐約時報書評》的長期撰稿人。龐德斯通己出版10部著作，其中包括《卡爾·薩根》、《囚徒的抉擇》、《推理迷宮》、《大秘密系列》等，其中兩部獲普利茲獎提名。
