曾經是Spcie Grils一員的Melanie C，單飛之後成績突出，推出過兩張專輯《Northern Star》和《Reason》。
這是她的將於4月初新專輯“Beautiful Intentions”
1970年代Melanie C生長在一個宗教氣氛濃厚的家庭里。父母在她三歲時離異，並各自有了新的家庭。母親是當地的一位歌手。
求學時代，Melanie一直是個相當優異的學生，對表演有濃厚的興趣。她一直想學彈吉他，也夢想能成為一個明星。
1994年 出現一個五人組合，是經紀人為了組成一個女的接招合唱團而徵選的，團員分別是Melaine Brown〈Mel B〉，Melanie Chisholm〈Mel C〉，Victoria Adams〈Victoria〉，Geri Halliwell〈Geri〉及後來未加入的Michelle Stephenson。
1994年 Michelle Stephenson離團後，Emma Bunton加入，此五人團體取名Spice Girls。
1995年 Spice Girls與經紀公司19 Management簽約，9月與EMI旗下的Virgin唱片公司簽約。Melanie C就是Sporty Spice。
