2016年12月2日，索尼音樂旗下挪威天才DJ Alan Walker將攜第三支全新單曲《Alone》正式回歸，這距離他首支熱單《Faded》發行已整整一年。
“對於我來說，《Alone》是一首關於共鳴的歌曲，它強調感覺至上。就像我做音樂的初衷不是為了成名，而是創造好的音樂讓大家喜歡，產生共鳴。這種感覺很奇妙，我做出好的音樂然後分享給他人”，艾倫本人這樣說道。
而此次，Alan Walker於12月初開啟亞洲巡演，而公布單曲的當天他正處在北京站巡演之時。
2017年2月10日，Alan Walker在發行《Faded（Restrung）》一年後，發布了《Alone（Restrung）》版本。並於 2月16日發布了《Alone（Restrung）》的MV。

《Alone》MV大部分內容是在Alan Walker的家鄉卑爾根，以及倫敦、巴黎、柏林等地拍攝的，部分鏡頭是由Walker的冬粉在其他地區拍攝。
在發布他的第三支單曲《Alone》之前，於10月中旬在Ulriken山上和Trolltunga景區的巨人之舌錄製了MV。 為此，他尋求並邀請超過一百名卑爾根公民扮演相應角色，並由瑞典製作公司Bror Bror將MV製作完成。
