一位在洛杉磯長大、名叫山塔納的少年，他和兩個朋友一起組成幫派，不久後便因闖空門而遭逮捕；由於山塔納獲釋後不久就再度犯案，便從少年感化院〃直升〃監獄。在牢里的這18年歲月里，他在監獄內外建立了自己的犯罪王國，從販毒到殺人無惡不作。當山塔納終於出獄後，他回到舊時的街區想要改過向善、重新做人，但他的昔日夥伴卻不肯放過他，逼他重拾黑幫老大之職……
