其作品大多為青春題材的純文學，短篇小說中不乏實驗先鋒類作品。作品風格受日本文學及歐美文學影響較深，主張對事物細微的觀察和對感情細膩的描寫，文體結構上主張電影鏡頭式的創作手法。他的小說多以青春歲月、一代人的成長以及戀愛為主題，韻味感傷、情節簡單、風格清新，但目前正在嘗試創作的《冒煙的鏡子》三部曲是一部傳奇式的科幻史詩作品，近期他還比較關注同性戀題材的作品，同時還在進行歌詞的創作。
