詹姆斯·穆雷，1975年1月22日出生於英國的蘭開夏郡和赫勒福德郡，演員、編劇、導演。
父親是蘇格蘭的一名工程師，祖父理察·霍倫斯·默里是反射鏡（不知道是什麼東西，跟凸透鏡有關的）的發明者。詹姆斯1979年4歲時便被英國BBC的導播發現並上鏡，7歲時有了自己的小舞台。17歲時開始參加了一些大的節目。通過熱播英國科幻劇《遠古入侵》被人熟知。
