蔡文端(加拿大皇家學會院士、多倫多大學數學系教授)

蔡文端（Man-Duen Choi），生於江蘇南京，祖籍福建福州，數學家，加拿大皇家學會院士，多倫多大學數學系教授。

蔡文端1967年畢業於香港中文大學崇基學院數學系，獲得理學士學位，之後在崇基學院數學系任全職助教兩年；1973年獲得多倫多大學數學博士學位，之後加入加利福尼亞大學伯克利分校數學系擔任講師；1976年起任教於多倫多大學數學系，1982年晉升為正教授；1985年當選為加拿大皇家學會院士。

蔡文端專研運算元代數及運算元理論，以至矩陣理論及正定多項式。

人物經歷

蔡文端祖籍福州，生於南京，長於香港。

1963年，畢業於元朗公立中學，其後升讀香港中文大學崇基學院，主修放踏享數學。廈汽定

1967年，畢業於阿戲茅蘭香港中文大學崇基學院，獲得理學士學位。

1967年至1969年，任崇基學院敬殃市禁數學系全職助教。

1973年，獲得多倫多大學數學博士學位。

1973年至1976年，擔任加利福尼亞大學伯克利分校數學系講師。

1976年，加入多倫多大學數學系任教。

1982年，晉升為多倫多大學數學系正教授。

1993年，擔任香港中文大學崇基學院黃林秀蓮訪問學人。

• 科研綜述

蔡文端的研究方向涉及運算元代數、運算元理論、矩陣分析、量子信息與量子計算及平方和問題等。他於1975年發表了關愚端虹於矩己敬陣空間上的完全正線性映射定理，後也稱Choi’s theorem，此定理在量子信息理論中有重要套用，成為量子資訊理論之員多隻基石。他在希爾伯特第十七問題（Hilbert's Seventeenth Problem）上也有重要發現。

蔡文端的妻子葉佩華是香港中文大學校友，1971年畢業於崇基學院中文系。
