聶永剛，博士，研究員，2012年畢業於中國科學院動物研究所，獲理學博士學位，曾分別在亞利桑那州立大學和悉尼大學做訪問學者。主要從事大熊貓等瀕危物種生態適應性與保護研究，利用進化生態學和保護生物學理論與思想，研究物種對環境的適應性特徵及其形成機制，探討在自然環境與人類活動共同作用下的物種瀕危狀況與原因。相關研究成果發表於Science, Current Biology, Functional Ecology, Biological Conservation, Animal Behaviour等學術期刊。獲國家自然科學基金優秀青年基金項目、中國動物學會第六屆青年科技獎和全國優秀青年動物生態學工作者等項目資助和獎勵。
