米爾頓·克拉斯納，男，17歲進入影壇，當助理開麥拉手，其後在紐約的維太格拉夫影片公司和比沃夫影片公司當開麥拉手，1933年升為主攝影師。多年探索，使他的攝影技術爐火純青，有許多影片都表現了很高的藝術水平。

1904年2月17日，米爾頓·克拉斯納出生於美國賓夕法尼亞州的費城市。
1942年由他參加拍攝的神話片《天方夜譚》獲奧斯卡彩色攝影的金像獎提名。
1949年，他加入二十世紀福斯公司，進一步對寬銀幕彩色攝影進行研究。
60年代後，又為派拉蒙、米高梅、哥倫比亞公司拍片。

Milton R. Krasner1954年以《羅馬之戀》獲得了第27屆奧斯卡最佳彩色電影攝影金像獎。此外還以《慧星美人》（1950）、《金玉盟》（1957）、《愛上高尚的陌生人》（1963）和《空難追蹤案》（1964）4次獲得奧斯卡最佳黑白片攝影金像獎提名；以《西部開拓者》（1963）獲奧斯卡最佳彩色電影攝影金像獎提名。
1988年7月16日在美國加利福尼亞州洛杉磯市的伍蘭岡區去世。
