李定 　男，漢族，1957年2月生，安徽桐城人，教授、博士生導師。

1978-1984年為中國科學技術大學電漿物理專業本科生和碩士生

1985-1988年為中國科學院電漿物理研究所博士生

1989-1992年、1996-1997年先後在德國於利希研究中心做博士後和客座研究員

1992-1997年在中國科學院合肥物質科學研究院電漿物理所歷任副研究員、副室主任、研究員、博士生導師

1997年任中國科技大學教授、博士生導師，曾任系主任、校長助理、國家同步輻射實驗室理事會副理事長

2003年7月起任中國科技大學副校長

2005年3月起兼任中國科學院基礎電漿物理重點實驗室主任

2007年起任中科院基礎科學局局長

2010年起任中國科學院監察審計局局長

長期從事電漿物理與受控熱核聚變的研究和教學工作。在磁流體不穩定性和電漿輸運的研究中取得一些創新性成果，改正了英國權威學者創立的環耦合撕裂模理論，被他們認為“揭示了其理論中的錯誤”。在國內外學術刊物上發表論文40餘篇，主持撰寫了“十五”國家級規劃教材《電漿物理學》。

1995年獲國家傑出青年科學基金資助、1998年獲延續資助。

1996年獲中國科學院自然科學二等獎1項（第1完成人）、入選國家百千萬人才工程第1、2層次人選。

1999年當選安徽省十大傑出教師並獲五一勞動獎章。
