徐揚生

徐揚生

徐揚生,1958年4月7日出生於浙江紹興,空間機器人與智慧型控制專家,中國工程院院士、中國人工智慧學會首批會士,香港中文大學自動化與計算機輔助工程學講座教授。

1982年和1984年分別取得浙江大學學士及碩士學位,並於1989年獲美國賓夕法尼亞大學博士學位。1989年至1997年間,任美國卡內基梅隆大學計算機學院機器人研究所研究員。1997年起任教於香港中文大學,擔任機械與自動化工程學系系主任至2004年,2011年開始擔任香港中文大學副校長,現兼任中國科學院深圳先進技術研究院副院長。

2013年7月獲聘為香港中文大學(深圳)首任校長,任期4年。

2017年7月,獲得香港中文大學(深圳)理事會續聘,任期至2021年。

2019年2月,擔任電子科技大學衛星產業技術研究院名譽院長、學術委員會主任。

研究方向

徐揚生長期從事機器人與智慧型控制系統研究,在空間機器人的設計、控制及動力學研究,以及無重力地面試驗設施的研製等方面作出了重要貢獻。他致力於推動我國航天智慧型控制技術的發展,提出並參與了有關航天智慧型系統的研製。同時,他對動態穩定系統的控制、人類控制策略的自動建模、穿戴式智慧型人機界面、以及全方位混合動力汽車等進行了深入研究和系統開發。發表論文270多篇、專著3部、編著1部。

徐教授熱心服務社會並積極參與專業活動,曾任香港生產力促進局董事(2003-2006),香港研究資助局工程組成員(1998-2004),中國國家高科技航天航空領域委員會顧問(2004-2006),中國自動化學會理事(2002至今),國際歐亞科學院院士(2001至今),國際宇航科學院通訊院士(2007至今),IEEE Fellow(2003至今),IEEE機器人與自動化學報副主編(1997-2000),及深圳市決策諮詢委員會顧問(2008至今)。

人物故事

徐揚生出生於上世紀50年代浙江紹興的一個書香家庭。高中畢業後,經歷了兩年的知青生活。1977年恢復高考,被浙江大學錄取。7年後,到美國留學,獲得賓夕法尼亞大學博士學位。隨後在卡內基梅隆大學任教並從事機器人研究,事業如日中天。
經歷過改革開放、香港回歸、海外求學、香港治學的徐揚生具有濃厚的家國情懷和對大學教育的反思,立志在中國本土辦一所世界一流的大學。在徐揚生的動員和努力下,2014年香港中文大學(深圳)正式設立。
