弗萊德·華萊士·海斯

人物生平

1959年，海斯在美國國家航空航天局的劉易斯研究中心(Lewis Research Center)成為了一名航空研究飛行員(Aeronautical Research Pilot)。他後來的任務是於1963年在Dryden Flight Research Center作為研究飛行員以及1966年在詹森航天中心(Johnson Space Center)作為太空人完成的。海斯was the first of the 1966 group to be assigned to Apollo duties - ahead of some group 3 members. He served on the back-up crew for the 阿波羅8號, 阿波羅11號, and 阿波羅16號 moon missions. He also flew as the Lunar Module Pilot on the aborted Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1970年. He was also scheduled as commander for the cancelled 阿波羅19號任務。He later flew five flights as the Commander of the space shuttle Enterprise in 1977年 for the Approach and Landing Test Program at Edwards Air Force Base and was in-line to fly in space again as a Shuttle Commander.

1995年, 海斯在電影阿波羅13號中由Bill Paxton扮演。海斯在電視連續短劇從地球到月球中由Adam Baldwin扮演。
