夏快飛，女，漢族，1975年11月出生於西湖農場三分場一隊。1994年7月西湖中學高中畢業，考入湖南師範大學，2000年7月畢業後，考入中國科學院華南植物園，2005年獲博士學位。
從2004年起，先後任中山大學生命科學院助理研究員，新加坡國立大學生命科學學院訪問學者，新加坡淡馬錫生命科學院訪問學者。現為中國科學院華南植物園副研究員、碩士研究生導師。
夏快飛主要從事水稻研究，主持國家級或省級研究項目8個，參與國家級或省級研究項目5個，以第一參與人身份申請國家發明專利2項，以第三參與人身份獲得水稻新品種審定和培育項目1個及國家發明專利1項。共發表科研論文11篇，其中有4篇論文分別獲中國科學院華南植物園優秀獎、二等獎，中國科學院廣州教育基地二等獎，廣東省研究生學會二等獎。

1994年9月至2001年7月就讀於湖南師範大學生命科學學院，獲得生物教育學學士和植物學碩士文憑。2001年9月至2004年7月就讀於中國科學院華南植物園，獲得理學博士文憑。碩博士攻讀期間一直從事水稻發育生物學的研究。主要套用蛋白質組學、細胞學和免疫組織化學技術對水稻小孢子發育過程中的蛋白質組學和細胞學及組織化學進行比較研究，能較好的把握水稻科學發展前沿，在此研究基礎上已有多篇文章發表。2004.12到2007.8期間，申請者在中山大學進行了2年多的博士後研究工作。博士後研究期間主要從事龍葵蛋白酶抑制劑SaPIN2a及SaPIN2b基因功能方面的研究。在前期研究的基礎上已經獲得了一些較為重要的實驗數據，部分實驗數據已經整理成文並在 ‘Plant Cell and Physiology’、 ‘Bioscience, Biotechnology and Biochemistry’和‘International Journal Molecular Science’國際刊物上發表。同時，還參與了一些經濟動植物分子標記的研究與開發工作。2008年到2009年曾經在新加坡國立大學植物分子生物學實驗室進行了為期一年的訪問學習，所在實驗室的組長曾經是新加坡十大傑出青年中科學界的代表。學習期間主要分析HAP轉錄因子在植物中的結合轉錄模式，主要研究結果已在國際知名刊物 ‘Development Cell’ 發表，本人排名第三。2009年回國後主要從事水稻功能基因的開發和利用及小分子RNA功能的研究，相關的小分子RNA Osa-miR393生物學功能的研究工作已經在PLoS ONE發表。在多年的學習和工作生涯中，申請人已積累了細胞生物學、蛋白質組學和分子生物學等多種方面的研究技能，熟悉和掌握了本項目涉及的大部分實驗方法和技術，在國內外刊物發表文章近30篇，其中SCI收錄文章十多篇，申請國際發明專利1項，國家發明專利2項，參與培育水稻新品種及新品種保護一個。
