為踐行法律與英語、理論與實務之結合，提升實際教學效果，作為法學專業核心課程的《國際經濟法》於2010年先後被重慶大學(國家985高校)建設為本科雙語示範課程和研究生教育優質課程(雙語)，又於2011年被作為重慶市雙語示範課程立項建設，使我校法學雙語教學工作得到了穩步紮實的推進。雙語課程建設的目的是培養能夠熟練運用英語並精通國際經濟法相關理論和制度的高端法律專業人才，讓學生能藉助本課程培養的綜合能力用英語進行相關科研活動、赴國外進行學術交流或者能勝任相關國際法律實務領域的工作。課程建設的關鍵和核心是教材問題，雙語課程建設尤為如此。為了滿足《國際經濟法》雙語示範課程和優質課程建設的需要，我們組織了重慶大學法學院國際法學科的骨幹教師編寫適宜的講義教材，以供教學之需，並在教學實踐中不斷地檢驗、校正、調整與更新。以這些教學實踐為基礎，我們依照通說的《國際經濟法》教材知識體系和主體內容要求系統地精選出了一批高質量的素材並精心打磨而成就本教材。
