全國高中新聞傳媒競賽影響力學院項目,借鑑新聞傳播領域的學識技能,培養中學生在媒體傳播、調查研究和故事表達等方面的素養,提升他們的洞察能力、思考能力和表現能力,創造優秀可見的實踐成果,增強升學競爭力。

全國高中新聞傳媒競賽(JMC)及學習項目是美國新聞教育協會的中國地區官方(JEA China)競賽學習項目,也是美國新聞教育協會(JEA)唯一在海外設立的競賽學習項目。

美國新聞教育協會

Established since 1924, JEA is the largest scholastic journalism organization in the United States. The association has high schools across US as members, long-established reputation in US colleges and hundres of Pulitzer Award winners as alumni. It educates teachers and organizes students, relevant clubs, projects and publications to compete in all media formats. Every year, more than 100,000 students and publications attend the competition in the U.S.

The National Journalism & Media Competition and Impact Academy Program leverages knowledges and skills in journalism and media, as to cultivate students' capabilities in communications, research and story telling, to improve their insights, critical thinking and performance, to help them create high quality and tangible results and improve their competitiveness in college applications.

According to international standards and rules, the competition has three independent subordinate contests: School Yearbook Contest, Student Organizations of Excellence Awards and Young Observers Contest. The Young Observers Contest has three competitive events including Investigative Writing Event, Leader's Interview Event and Communication Initiative Plan Event. Specific for students and clubs in all fields of studies, the Young Observers Contest has six independent columns in Business & Economics, International Politics, Social Responsibility, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts and Campus Life.
根據國際競賽設定和規則,競賽共設立三個獨立的子競賽:校園年鑑評選比賽、學生社團卓越獎評選和青年觀察者競賽。其中青年觀察者競賽下設調查式寫作、領袖訪問和傳播倡議策劃三個競賽項目,並針對各個專業和各個社團的學生設立設立商業經濟、國際政治、社會責任、科學技術、文化藝術、校園生活共六個獨立專業版面。

The academic system of the Impact Academy has been tested and used in U.S. high schools for more than 90 years. The associated courses and activities not only teach the basic information of journalism and communication theories, but also incorporate the most innovative development in modern media and latest digital trends. The system is very practical and encourages students' leadership in raising public awareness.

As a core platform for information literacy, all contents of the system center around four key steps of dealing with information - "sourcing, packaging, delivering and spreading".

Before the event, all students will have access to the preparatory JEA and Leadership curriculum at our proprietary LearningFirst℗ online learning system. These courses are all tailored based on the inspirations from prestigeous education organizations. Students will master skills in 11 segments and as many as 332 knowledge points.

專業版面學習

During the Impact Academy, the organizing committee will invite notable speakers from the six columns (Business & Economics, International Policy, Social Responsibility, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Campus Impact) to hold lecturing talks on their current projects, stories, insights and experiences. Meanwhile, participants will have the opportunity to do group interviewing with the guest speakers and ask inspiring questions.
在影響力學院期間,組委會將會在大會定下的6個版面下(商業經濟,國際政策,社會責任,科學技術,文化藝術,校園影響力)邀請各領域知名人士舉辦講座來和參賽者分享各自的項目、故事、洞察和經驗。同時,參賽者將對這些演講嘉賓做小組訪問,提出富有啟發性的問題。

調查式寫作項目

The Investigative Writing Event is the integrated event that encourages students to make their own investigation and show their discoveries and thinkings in a professional and compelling way.
調查式寫作項目作為一個綜合的比賽項目,鼓勵學生做出他們自己的調查,並以專業和有力的方式展現他們的發現和背後的思考。
Each competition group will choose one of the six columns (Business & Economics, International Policy, Social Responsibility, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Campus Life) and will be required to investigate an issue, an event or a phenomenon that have impact on the the community under the chosen column. They should write a feature story to introduce the truth and the team's opinion, with sufficient primary research, secondary research, data, quotes and unique perspectives. The organizing committee will provide detailed guidance on the writing project format and content.
每個比賽隊伍將選擇六個獨立版面的其中一個(商業經濟,國際政策,社會責任,科學技術,文化藝術,校園生活),並須在所選版面的領域內調查一個重要的問題、事件或現象,收集充分的一手調研資料、二手調研資料、數據、引言和獨到的觀點等,最終撰寫一篇特稿以介紹該問題、事件或現象,以及隊伍成員的看法。主辦方會提供一份完整的資料來指導學生在寫特稿時需要注意的地方。
Processes of the event are as follows:
比賽項目的流程如下:
  • Teams need to submit their work before the competition to pass qualifying review as they complete their preliminary version.
    在比賽前,參賽隊伍在完成初步版本後,須提交至組委會,通過審核,以保證其作品符合最基本的規格和要求。
  • Teams will then incorporate the learning from Impact Academy into their investigative writing project and submit their final work on the 3rd night.
    團隊之後將有時間把影響力學院上所學的新知識進行融合來改進自己的作品,並在比賽的第三天晚上正式提交最終版本的作品。
  • Teams need to create presentations to deliver their findings in a short and compelling way during the simulated Press Conference on the 4th morning. Performance at Press Conference is part of the final evaluation and judging system.
    改進後團隊需要把最終作品在第四天上午的模擬新聞發布會上進行展示,最終按各個獨立版面進行評估和比拼。
  • Teams will be able to schedule individual feedback sessions with the judges during the competition to receive comments and suggestions of improvement on the 5th morning.
    在比賽開始後團隊將有機會可以和評審預約第五天上午,進行一對一的反饋環節收集評審對作品的改進意見。

領袖訪問項目

During the Impact Academy, the organizing committee will invite notable speakers from the six columns (Business & Economics, International Policy, Social Responsibility, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Campus Life) to hold lecturing talks on their current projects, stories, insights and experiences. Teams will be required to produce news articles (with writing, photography, and design elements) introducing the lecture topics and their comments according to guidelines set by the organizing committee after participating in the relevant talk. JMC judges will then evaluate and select the best articles under each columns for awards.
每組團隊將會被要求參與一個相關版面講座並就講座講師提供的內容進行新聞稿(包含文字,圖片,和設計)的製作。大會組委會將會提供詳細的新聞稿寫作指南進行指導。大會評審將會就團隊的新聞稿終稿進行評審,給出獎項。

傳播倡議策劃

Communication Initiative Planning is an integrated assignment for the team to design a communication initiative which has a complete communication plan including the theme, the channels, the detailed execution steps, and etc for a certain leadership purpose. The initiative topic will be given by the organizing committee but the participating team can tailor its initiative around this topic.
傳媒倡議策劃是一個綜合的競賽任務,要求參賽隊伍根據一個特定的社會公益主題,設計一個傳媒倡議計畫,包括相信的主題、傳媒渠道、執行方案等。策劃的主題將由比賽官方給出,但參賽隊伍可以根據主題,自主制定自己的傳播倡議和傳播方案。

學校年鑑競賽

School Yearbook is an essential and mandatory part of all American high schools. The yearbook captures school's achievements and its best aspects. It can perfectly serve both as a school recruiting tool and as a branding tool to oversea colleges.
學校年鑑是美國所有高中必備和至關重要的組成部分。學校年鑑記錄學校的成就和最好的一面。它不僅可以完美的向學生和家長展示學校,也能向海外大學展示學校的優秀之處。
School Yearbook requires each school to have dedicated students regularly working on the project. The designated students need to finish and polish their school's yearbook and submit it for judges' evaluation. The students will also be invited to Shanghai this summer and participate in other relevant workshops, academy and competitions.
學校年鑑要求每一個學校都有指定的學生進行日常的準備工作。被指定的學生需要完成和修改學校的年鑑,並提交給評審評比。這些學生在這個暑假同樣會被邀請到上海參加其他的工作坊、學習和比賽項目。

學生組織卓越獎評選項目

The event also provides a platform for all student organizations to leverage what they learn professionally to better demonstrate their performance and organizational brand.The Organization Expo event is an independent and separate competitive event for student organizations to introduce themselves, show their own media works and initiatives. The event will be held on the 4th day afternoon of the program when awards will be judged and given to outstanding performing organizations. Participants should join in this competitive event representing their own organizations with different team structures.
比賽同時提供所有的學生組織一個平台,來利用他們的專業所學,更好地展示他們的成績和組織品牌。組織成就展現和品牌宣傳是一個針對學生組織的獨立競賽項目來讓他們展現自己的成就、媒體作品和工作計畫等。這項比賽的最終評比將會在整個議程的第四天下午舉行。這個項目將針對展現傑出的組織頒發相應的獎項。參加者將代表各自的組織以不同的團隊參加這個競賽項目。

  • Media Publications of the Student Organizaiton (newspaper, magazine, website, etc.)

  • Promotional Videos and Posters of the Student Organization

獎項評定

The National Journalism & Media Competition is modeled after the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association in the U.S. The competition judges will evaluate each team and candidate on the mastery of production, visual arts and techniques, information processing, information sourcing, media innovation, and communications theory.
全國新聞傳媒競賽評獎細則對接國際競賽評獎機制,採用美國新聞教育協會和全國學術傳媒協會運營的國際媒體競賽體系,圍繞媒介作品的製作、視覺創意與技巧、信息處理和分析、信息搜尋和獲取、媒介與互動創新、傳播理論和策略幾個環節對學生綜合能力進行考察和評獎.
Awards include but not limit to: 獎項包括但不局限於:
  • Best Learner Awards: the committee will award those who score highly on our online journalism&media course through the LearningFirst system and during Impact Academy.
    最佳學者獎:該獎項將頒給在我們的LearningFirst學習庫的傳媒學科課程中以及影響力學院中課程內容掌握最好、課堂表現最好的參賽者。
  • Best Performance: awarded to the best overall performer in all events of the competition.
    最佳表現獎:組委會會評出所有項目總分最高的一支隊伍授予最佳團隊的稱號。
  • Best Research & Feature Writing / Best Leaders Interview Writing: awarded to the top team within each column who have demonstrated supreme academic expertise, writing skills, and design skills during the Research & Feature Writing / Leaders Interview Writing competition.
    最佳特稿寫作獎:組委會將頒發給6大版面各自在調研特稿寫作和領袖訪問寫作項目中表現最完美(版面所需學術知識儲備,寫作能力,及設計能力)的團隊。
  • Best Student Publication / Promotion / Yearbook: awarded to student organizations during the Organization Expo that receives the highest evaluation from the judges.
    最佳學生出版物/宣傳作品/年度回顧:組委會會授予得到最多評審好評的學生組織展示內容的相應獎項。
  • Best Photographer: awarded to top performing student photographers for individual performances during all relevant sections.
    最佳攝影:組委會將會為表現最好的導演們頒發該個人獎項。
  • Best Journalist: awarded to top performing student journalist for individual performances during all relevant sessions.
    最佳記者:組委會將會為表現最好的記者們頒發該個人獎項。
  • Best Designer: awarded to top performing student designers for individual performances during all relevant sessions.
    最佳設計師:組委會將會為表現最好的設計師們頒發該個人獎項。
Judges will be invited from leading international education organizations, famous journalism/media agencies and notable universites.
比賽評審將邀請自國際領先教育組織、著名媒體機構和知名高等學府。

語言要求

English is required for all final written products except for the Media Publications of Student Organizations where participants can present their existing publication in its original langauge. The talk part of the Leaders Interview Event may be conducted with the language (English or Chinese) of the speaker's choice, however, the news article produced by the teams should be in English. Detailed instructions and templates will be provided for the English sections. Use of Chinese or other languages (mainly oral communication) is allowed during all working sessions.
除了學生組織的現有媒體出版物(可以保持原出版物使用語言)之外所有競賽環節最終提交的書面材料、電子作品使用語言均為英文(我們將提供詳細的指南和模板)。同時,在領袖訪問項目的講座環節,講座語言將由演講者根據自身傾向在中文和英文中選擇,但是參賽隊伍的新聞稿必須使用英文。在規定使用英文的情況之外,在任意日程中使用中文或其他語言(主要為口頭交流)是被允許的。
