7月18日，美國CBS電視台公布了新一季的真人秀節目《Survivor》的播出時間，即9月20日晚上8:00-9:00。這一季的Survivor做出了不少改變。其製作人Mark Burnett早前曾經透露說：“我們改變了以往都選在熱帶島嶼進行拍攝的路子，這次我們將去中國內地古老而又神秘的地方進行拍攝。這也是美國首次有全季電視劇在中國登入。”他還說：“這一季將有16名參賽者，並且這一次將不會設定流放島，被藏起來的個人豁免神像也就在參賽者的眼皮底下。”
這一季的Survivor目前正在我國江西省九江市的柘林湖進行拍攝，預計8月2號左右其拍攝工作將要告一段落。這裡這么說是因為國外Survivor的fan建立的網站上基本都有這樣一條還未經證實的小道訊息，說16季可能將仍會在中國進行拍攝（猜測中的拍攝地還有另一個地方），偶們知道，16季是All-Star，也就是全明星賽。
後續影響
隨著網上聲援廬山西海的輿論不斷蔓延。記者採訪了省內外相關律師，就網友提出的美國CBS攝製組拍攝《倖存者十五季》對廬山西海“張冠李戴”，玷污中國飲食文化，以及“過河拆橋”，單方拆除《倖存者》拍攝場地等問題進行了採訪。多名律師建議，廬山西海應利用法律武器起訴美國《倖存者》攝製組及其中方代理方，維護自身的合法權益。
