作者介紹
Frederick P. Brooks, Jr. 1931年4月19日出生於美國北卡羅來納州Durham，1953年畢業於杜克大學，1956年獲得哈佛大學套用數學博士學位，同年加入IBM公司。他領導了IBM System/360及其作業系統OS/360的開發，被譽為“IBM 360系統之父”，“計算機體系結構”一詞即由他首先提出。1964年他離開IBM，創建了北卡羅來納大學計算機科學系，擔任系主任長達20年。1975年，他出版了著名的《人月神話》，探討軟體工程的管理問題。1986年，他發表了經典論文《沒有銀彈》（本書已收錄）。1994年被選為ACM院士。
