村民組合的成員分別裝扮成警官、印第安酋長、建築工人、士兵、機車手和牛仔。他們知名的歌曲有Macho man, Sex over the phone, Go west，以及最著名的Y.M.C.A。在全球範圍內售出了超過1億張唱片。
簡介
Village People是由同性戀組成的組合（鄉村基佬），最初創建的目標觀眾是同性戀流行的幻想角色,起步時因為同性戀當時不受大眾理解，所以小範圍出道，後來歌曲的火熱迅速領他們進入主流。

提起YMCA，估計80年代以後出生的朋友們大多不甚了了；而對於生於70年代或者更早一些的朋友來說，印象最深的大概莫過於那首存在眾多不同語言翻唱版的Y-M-C-A以及那雙手高高舉過頭頂（Y）、雙手彎曲置於雙肩（M）、雙手向右（C）、雙手面前交叉（A）的標誌性集體舞蹈動作。當年這首歌曲在DISCO的流行程度至今讓人難以忘懷，全場上下整齊一致的動作，將氛圍急速推升至最HIGH點。
YMCA是Village People最著名也是最經典的歌曲。
