2011年1月14日，二人在The Tonight Show with Jay Leno（NBC電視台由美國知名諧星萊諾(Jay Leno)主持的《今夜秀》脫口秀節目）上，演唱了專輯Barton Hollow同名主打歌Barton Hollow及Birds Of A Feather。2011年2月1日，這張與格萊美獲獎製作人Charlie Peacock合作的首張全長錄音室專輯Barton Hollow正式發行。Barton Hollow單曲發行後曾位列BillboardBubbling Under Hot 100 Singles第一位，而該專輯則位列Billboard 200排行榜第10名。Barton Hollow為The Civil Wars贏得了第54屆葛萊美獎最佳民謠專輯和最佳鄉村表演組合獎。
2012年，The Civil Wars和美國鄉村音樂小天后Taylor Swift及T-Bone Burnett合作作詞並錄製了熱門電影《飢餓遊戲》原聲專輯首首支單曲"Safe & Sound"。Safe and Sound在iTunes發行後12小時內就成為最熱門單曲TOP10。.

2012年冬天，The Civil Wars產生裂痕，官方宣布由於“Internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition”，取消了正在進行中的巡演活動，兩名成員的合作也陷入中止。就在外界為這個組合的現狀擔憂時，2013年5月初，The Civil Wars公布了新的專輯信息。2013年6月，新的同名專輯《The Civil Wars》主打單曲The One That Got Away和From This Valley開始發行，8月6日，專輯《The Civil Wars》正式發行，成為Billboard 200排行冠軍。憑藉From This Valley，The Civil Wars再次獲得第56屆葛萊美獎最佳鄉村表演組合獎。
