歌曲歌詞
It was May of 1992 when he made history
The 43rd appearance for him on the telecast
How he did what he did on that day remains a mystery
And he holds the record to this day that no one has surpassed
Candlepin Paul candlepin ball
That's all it took to make the candlepins fall
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
Deadwood David Richards was a champ in every sense
A champion that showed up on that day just to defend
His television title and his pride in his defense
There was no way that he could possibly predict how this would end
Candlepin Paul candlepin ball
That's all it took to make the candlepins fall
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
They kept falling they kept falling they kept falling down
Sometimes the order's too tall odds had him coming up short
They called him Candlepin Paul the unlikely hero the unlikeliest of sports
Remember Candlepin Paul a little love and support
The man stands alone after all the unlikely hero the unlikeliest of sports
Those there can not ever recall having seen anything of the sort
What they saw was Candlepin Paul the unlikely hero the unlikeliest of sports
