歌手簡介：1961年5月7日出生愛爾蘭的大家庭中，本名為 - Eithne Ni Bhraonain，父母親在自組樂團中擔任薩克斯風手及鋼琴演奏，巡迴愛爾蘭，蘇格蘭，英格蘭等地演出，表演五十，六十年代的歌曲，自小修習古典鋼琴，在充滿音樂氣息的環境中成長。 '80年 Enya 打消進入音樂大學的念頭，而加入由姐姐，兩個哥哥及雙胞胎叔叔所組成的家族樂團 [Clannad] 擔任鍵盤手，歷經2年嚴格緊湊的巡迴演唱經驗.'92 年 billboard 年終排行榜上，[shepherd moons]與 [watermark] 分占年度 new age 專輯的冠軍與第五名，enya 不愧為 new age 音樂之後。 '93年2月，第35屆葛萊美獎揭曉，enya 的 [shepherd moons] 專輯無庸置疑地拿下最佳 new age 專輯。 '93年 billboard 年終排行榜中，enya 再以 [shepherd moons]與[watermark] 獲得年度new age 專輯榜的冠，亞軍，enya 儼然己成為new age 音樂的代名詞。 '94年初，enya 的 "marble halls" 一曲被電影 [the age of innocence] (純真年代) 選作插曲，為這部鋪陳上流社會與布爾喬亞美麗和腐敗， 注入一真實純淨的清流。 '95年11月，enya 推出期待已久的新專輯 [the memory of trees]，並又在第39屆葛萊美獎第二次獲得最佳 new age 專輯。
