圖書簡介

The purpose of this book is to introduce to the attendees modern methods used in quantum field theories and perturbation calculation techniques which are useful in theoretical high energy physics research.lt is also designed to provide a necessary preparation to the study of topics in quantum chromodynamics. Therefore, the topics treated here are not only records of important developments in theoretical physics, but are also working tools in areas of theoretical high energy physics where field theoretical approaches are relevant.
The book contains six chapters.Chapters 1,2and3 form the first part which deals with basic formulations of quantum field theories by means of the functional integration method.lt includes topics such as quantization of non-gauge(e.g.,φ and Yudawa)and local gauge invariant(e.g.,quantum electrodynamics and quantum chromodynamics)field theories,Ward-Takahashi identities, perturbation expansion and Feynman graphical rules, spontaneous symmetry breaking and Higgs mechanism, and the Weinberg#Salam unified theory of weak and electromagnetic interactions.Chapters 4,5 and 6,the second part, daal with perturbation theory useful in high energy physics calculations. They include the following topics:Feynman loop integrals, regularization method for ultraviolet and infrared divergent integrals, renormalization, renormalization group, the renormalization group equation in quantum chromodynamics, and adymptotic freedom.
