創作背景

2012年初，班尼·布蘭科以及星門團隊在紐約城工作室創作歌曲，同時他們在工作室完成了《Diamonds（In The Sky）》的初始版本。然而班尼和星門團隊並沒有考慮將《Diamonds（In The Sky）》由蕾哈娜演唱，他們考慮由說唱歌手坎耶·維斯特進行演唱。在歌曲譜曲完畢後，Sia加入了歌曲的創作並在14分鐘內完成了歌詞撰寫。歌曲創作完畢後，蕾哈娜接受了歌曲並進行試唱。歌曲先後在紐約城工作室以及洛杉磯的西湖工作室完成錄製。
