A working-class market town in the West Indies in the middle of the nineteen-seventies. As a cyclone approaches, influencing people's feelings and exacerbating their behavior, an intimate drama is taking place without anybody knowing. The town's only two shops and their occupiers act as a go-between for the thousands of souls waiting for the announced disaster.
