最初，他們在GREATER LONDON的酒吧里演出，並以Fleeing New York 的名字錄製了一些歌曲。他們在在2008年11月將樂隊名改為Band of Skulls。他們的首張專輯《Baby Darling Doll Face Honey》由Shangri-La Music發行。在2009年3月6日在iTunes Store中獨家公布。然後在3月20日發行普通版專輯。專輯中歌曲"I Know What I Am"被選作iTunes 活動歌，也被選為電視劇Friday Night Lights的原聲帶中的一首並在2010年5月4日發行。他們的在專輯《Baby Darling Doll Face Honey》中的單曲"Friends"於2009年11月被選為《暮光之城·新月》的原聲大碟中的歌曲。在2010年3月23日，發行了EP《Friends》，其中包括歌曲的錄音版，現場版以及MV。他們在2010年初在 SXSW Festival 上表演。然後3月在 Midwest 的 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club演出。 他們在2010年3月出席了法國電視節目Taratata broadcast , 他們和樂隊John & Jehn共同翻唱了 The Rolling Stones的Sympathy for the Devil。在2010年4月，他們在美國與加拿大巡迴演出，接著於5月在英國演出。2010年6月28日，他們作為 The Dead Weather 在倫敦The Roundhouse的演出嘉賓。他們在2010年9月也將成為MUSE的演出嘉賓。

"I Know What I Am" was included on the soundtrack for the Playstation 3 video game MLB 10: The Show, in season nine of Degrassi: The Next Generation, the Swatch TV ad "Swatch Colour Codes" worldwide, in Season 4 for the television series Friday Night Lights, soundtrack and the sbs add for the world cup.
"Death By Diamonds and Pearls" was used in the commercial for Britain's Next Top Model, Cycle 6. "Patterns" was used in the second season, episode 16, of Castle, a TV show with Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic.
