Atlan 是一個來自愛爾蘭的民謠組合。Altan前身是夫妻檔的二重唱組合。他們是來自Belfast的笛子演奏家Frankie Kennedy和出生在Donegal郡的Gweedore，著名的小提琴家Francie O’Maonaigh的女兒，歌手兼小提琴手Mairead Ni’ Mahaonaigh。與其他北部的音樂家一樣，Frankie經常在假日期間來Gweedore學習和演奏Donegal風格的音樂。

他是在當地酒吧的音樂集會上結識Mairead的，成為戀人後他們同赴都柏林St. Oliver Plunkett School擔任國小教師。1979年，他們參與了蓋爾語歌手Albert Fry同名處女專輯的錄音工作，這次自由而富有想像力的製作，揭開了他們音樂生涯嶄新的篇章。

歌曲講述的是一個父親把二十四歲的女兒嫁給一個十四歲的富家子弟，女兒不願意，擔心等到丈夫長大了，自己已經老了。但是父親說自己的安排沒錯，她把女兒嫁給有錢的年輕人，等他老了，女兒就有人能依靠。但是後來那個富家子弟還沒長大就死了，女孩非常悲傷，在綠草如茵的墓地上用法蘭絨為他織壽衣。
